Cured Sausage, Pistachio and Prune Cake

When I think of “Cake” I don’t think savory.  This cake is a delicious combination of salty, crunchy and satisfying.  Packed full of ingredients rich in flavor and beautiful once cut into.  It’s a wonderful addition to any picnic baskets.

While the cake itself is light and tender it’s the addition of the savory components that make it the perfect loaf.  I followed the recipe to the letter and it turned out beautifully, you could certainly add whatever you have such as leftover roasted vegetables, olives, bits of cold meat and even cheese.  Another variation of this cake is on the agenda, very soon. The Little Paris Kitchen by Rachel Khoo has supplied me with so many mouth watering recipes and unique flavors, I look forward to the next delight.
